Dr. Nishan Ranabhat joins the Complex Quantum Systems group!

April 30, 2025

Dr. Ranabhat is a computational physicist with a strong expertise in using tensor networks to tackle classical and quantum many-body systems. After moving to the International Center for Theoretical Physics (ICTP) for their prestigious Diploma program, Dr. Ranabhat spent his PhD years at the International School of Advanced Studies (SISSA). There, from Prof. Mario Collura, he learned how to use tensor network algorithms to simulate and study many-body quantum systems. He then moved to the University of Waterloo for his first postdoctoral job, where he worked under the supervision of Roger Melko and Estelle Inack.

At the beginning of April, he joined the Complex Quantum Systems group. He will leverage his computational expertise to study many-body, out-of-equilibrium, open quantum systems here!
